Dr. Joseph Mercola is one of my modern-day heroes. He is one of the few conventionally-trained medical doctors who has seen allopathic medicine for what it is and has had the courage to educate the public about safe and effective alternatives. Allopathic medicine is the kind of medicine that has come to value the profitability of a treatment above that treatment’s safety and effectiveness. That might explain why so many people die from properly prescribe, properly administered drugs.

On September 2nd of 2011, Dr. Mercola published an article about diabetes and the drugs that are used to treat it. As with all his articles, this one was full of valuable information that you’d probably never be able to get from the medical establishment.

Type 2 diabetes is very much in the public eye of late. Dr. Oz is talking about it, the morning television shows like Today and Good Morning America have are talking about it and the drug are having a field day trying to make you afraid of it so that you’ll run out and buy drugs like Avandia.

Unlike Type 1 diabetes – which is an autoimmune disease that shuts down your body’s insulin production, type 2 diabetes is directly caused by lifestyle. In today’s fast-paced lifestyle, 93% of the food that Americans consumed is processed food. That means that it’s laced with sodium, MSG, and high-fructose corn syrup.

There’s no financial incentive for drug companies to encourage people to make small lifestyle changes by avoiding processed foods, so they have invented a drug that they claim is an effective treatment for diabetes.

The problem is that Avandia has been shown to have some exceptionally nasty side effects. According to a 2007 study in the New England Journal of Medicine, Avandia has been linked to a 43 percent increase in the risk of heart attack and a 64 percent increase in the risk of cardiovascular death, compared to patients treated with other methods.

Dr. Mercola asserts that you can reverse type 2 diabetes by implementing the lifestyle changes that he lists in his article.

But what if we look at the energetic foundation of type 2 diabetes instead of limiting our focus to the physical elements of the disease. Remember, “Energy is all there is”, and we might be able to get a deeper perspective on type 2 diabetes if we consider the energy systems thought to be associated with it.

According to Eden Energy Medicine – the system pioneered by Donna Eden – the primary energy system related to diabetes is the Spleen Meridian. The energy of Spleen Meridian is believed to encompass the pancreas, which is the organ that produces insulin, among other hormones.

Applying specific methods from Eden Energy Medicine could have the effect of keeping blood sugar in balance. It could also help create a new pattern of insulin production in the pancreas.

The type of diabetes determines how much the illness could be turned around. If a person was born without the ability to create insulin, they will probably always need to have it supplied externally.

But even in that situation, the right Eden Energy Medicine procedures could help the pancreas to function more effectively.

For the blood sugar to stay balanced, it is crucial that Spleen Meridian be kept strong. This is done primarily by sedating Triple Warmer Meridian and then by directly strengthening Spleen Meridian.

Energy Medicine and Immune System Disorders

The Neurovascular points for releasing fear are located in the back of the head directly behind the eyes The most convenient way to hold these points along with the Main Frontal NVs is to hold one hand over your forehead so that it overspreads the Main Frontal NVs and the other hand over the back of the head so that it overspreads the Water NVs, which are the NVs related to the emotion of fear. You only need use light pressure when you hold the NV points. This is demonstrated in the figure. A very important point in working with the NVs is to focus on the situation or circumstance that is linked to your emotion of Fear as you hold the NV points. Hold the points long enough to feel pulses in the palms of your hands and/or to feel the Fear begin to diminish to get the most benefit from holding the NV points.

I ran across an article about a clinic in Nova Scotia recently that specializes in environmental illness. 

The clinic takes a two-pronged approach:

1. Research into environmental illnesses and
2. Patient treatment

Both of these approaches take place under the same roof.

The fact that such a facility even exists is a testament to the fact that the environment we have created for ourselves truly is toxic. Patients who need the clinic’s services typically suffer from some form of three general problems:

• Multiple chemical sensitivity
• Fibromyalgia, and
• Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

 The symptoms most commonly encountered are

• Body pain
• Lack of energy
• Gastrointestinal symptoms

If these symptoms sound familiar, then you may want to pay attention to the rest of this post… or not.

One of the things that struck me as almost comical in this article was that the clinic requires visitors to remove their shoes before entering the facility and to disinfect their hands before entering and leaving.

Why did this requirement give me a chuckle? Because the toxins that contribute to environmental illness are present everywhere! For example,

• Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether (MTBE) has been found in the drinking water in several cities across America
• Pharmaceuticals have now become environmental pollutants, showing up in water supplies all across North America
• Air pollution in cities has been shown to be more dangerous than living near Chernobyl
• And don’t even get me started about the effect of pesticides and genetic engineering in our food.

Basically, the source of environmental illness is everywhere; it’s in the food we eat, the water we drink and the air we breathe.  So washing your hands, while a good thing to do, does precious little to keep you safe from the real sources of this broad category of illness.

It’s become a 21st century cliché that everything is energy. It’s actually much more than just a cliché, though. It’s probably one of the discoveries that most shocked the world of physics – the discovery that objects aren’t as separate as they seem and that they really aren’t objects at all. At the most basic level of matter, everything is composed of countless packets of energy that are vibrating at such a mind-boggling rate that they appear to be solid.

Your body is thought to be animated by a matrix of energies. Healing traditions and religious writings dating back thousands of years affirm this fact. It’s widely believed that this matrix of energies acts upon the physical body and profoundly affects the functioning of your body’s biological systems. Using your consciousness to interact with this energy matrix to return the body and mind to a state of health is called Energy Medicine.

All of the toxins that you are exposed to have an energy system associated with them. And this toxic energy system interacts with your body’s energy system and wreaks havoc. The sort of havoc that could lead to environmental illness. Believe it or not, it is thought that the reason these chemicals and foreign agents are toxic for you is due more to the interaction between your body’s energy system and the energy of the toxin than to the biochemical interaction between  you and the toxin.

If there was a way for you to repattern your own energy system in such a way that it stayed in a balanced and harmonious state, even in the presence of environmental toxins, those toxins could cease to have such a toxic effect on you. Because, ostensibly, it’s not the toxin that is the problem – at least not the whole problem – it’s the interaction between their energy system and yours.

There is no more effective and affordable way to begin the process of restoring balance to your energy system than through the science of Energy Medicine.

I made a video that explains all of this in much more detail. It even cites a study from a peer-reviewed journal where Energy Medicine was used to remit cancer in mice.
